Other Volunteer Opportunities
Animals come to St. Francis from animal control facilities, owner surrenders, other rescue organizations, etc. Help is always needed to pick up and transport these animals to St. Francis Animal Rescue and veterinary appointments.
To ensure our animals are cared for in safe, loving homes, we visit each potential foster home to ensure a quality environment.
There always seem to be something to do! Help is needed for data entry, mass mailings, phone calls, etc.
Occasionally, St. Francis will be invited to speak and bring some of our animals to a school, Boy/Girl Scout meeting, Lions Club, etc. We provide information on the role of St. Francis in the community, pet overpopulation, volunteer opportunities, animal care and general information on rescue organizations.
Throughout the year, St. Francis Animal Rescue is invited to participate in community events. These include events such as Taco Daze - Scandia's Annual Community Festival, Pet-A-Palooza - an annual event produced by CBS Radio to celebrate animals, and the Canine Carnival - a tribute to dogs both wild and domestic held at the Wildlife Science Center, and events held by Chuck & Don's Petfood Outlet.
We need volunteers at these events to sell animal themed items, man fundraising games and provide information about our organization.
